Our Classes
First Time Participants
If you HAVE NOT previously attended a Pilates class, please contact me (either via phone or email) prior to booking a class, so that we can go over some of the fundamental principles of Pilates such as neutral posture, core activation, pelvic neutral and Pilates breathing. I can then suggest which class I think would be best for you to attend so that you feel more comfortable and confident when attending classes.
Class sizes will also be kept to a small number a max of 9 in mat classes and a maximum of 4 in equipment classes, to allow each client to get support and guidance from Laura.
When attending classes, please:
• Bring an exercise mat or thick bath towel
• Wear comfortable clothing suitable for exercise (wearing layers on your upper body is a good idea)
• Bring a drink
• Ensure you inform Laura of any medical conditions or injuries that you have – (regardless of whether you feel they are relevant or not)
Safety Waiver
Before booking a class, please read our safety waiver which you will be required to agree to on our booking system, to ensure that it is safe for you to participate in Pilates.
Mat Classes
Pilates Mat Classes
Laura will guide you through a series of exercises that are all based on the original works of Joseph Pilates. Exercises are taught in a slow manner to allow you to focus on the form of the exercise and your control of your body.
You will build strength, as well as work on flexibility, mobility and your balance.
Small equipment such as resistance bands, weights, Pilates circles, Hogs and Ova balls are often used, these can make the exercises either eaiser or harder or just add a fun element to the class and mix things up a bit!
